How to use it on Linux
- Copy the post linkOn x.com, open the post, click the Share icon under it and choose “Copy link”, or simply copy the address from the browser bar.

When is 1080p available?
X creates a 1080p version when the original upload was Full HD or higher. Many phone recordings qualify; clips reposted from elsewhere may top out at 720p.
If 1080p isn’t listed after you paste the link, X simply doesn’t have it. No tool can add detail that isn’t in the source.
How big are 1080p files?
- About 1–2.5 MB per 10 seconds, depending on motion
- A one-minute clip is typically 8–15 MB
- Choose 720p to roughly halve the size
Where the files go on Linux
Files land in ~/Downloads unless you’ve set a different folder in your browser settings.
MP4 files play in VLC, mpv or GNOME Videos, and import into Kdenlive, Shotcut or OBS.

Why is there no 1080p button?
The uploader’s video wasn’t Full HD, so X didn’t create a 1080p version. We list everything X has.
Is 1080p worth it on a phone?

Why does it say the post has no media?
The post only contains text or a link card. SaveXClips can download videos, GIFs and photos attached directly to a post.
