On a computer: a one-click bookmark

Add this button to your browser’s bookmarks bar. On any X post, click it and SaveXClips opens with the video ready to download.

Save with SaveXClips

  1. Show the bookmarks bar: press Ctrl + Shift + B (⌘ + Shift + B on a Mac).
  2. Drag the button above onto the bookmarks bar.
  3. Open a post on x.com and click the new bookmark.

Drag the button, don’t click it: it only works when you’re on an X post.

On iPhone and iPad: a Share-menu shortcut

Create a two-minute shortcut in Apple’s Shortcuts app and SaveXClips appears in the Share menu of the X app.

  1. Open the Shortcuts app and tap + to create a new shortcut.
  2. Tap the ⓘ (Details) button and turn on “Show in Share Sheet”. Set the accepted input to URLs.
  3. Add the “Open URLs” action. In its field, type the address shown below, then tap “Shortcut Input” in the bar above the keyboard to add it right after.
  4. Name the shortcut “SaveXClips” and tap Done.
  5. In the X app, open a post, tap Share › Share via… and choose SaveXClips. Safari opens with the video ready to download.

On Android: share straight from X

Install SaveXClips as an app from your browser and it appears in Android’s share menu, next to WhatsApp and your other apps.

  1. Open savexclips.com in Chrome, tap ⋮ and choose “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”.
  2. In the X app, open a post and tap Share.
  3. Choose SaveXClips in the share menu (the first time, look under “More”). It opens with the video ready to download.

Anywhere: change the address

In the address of any X post, replace x.com with savexclips.com and press Enter, for example savexclips.com/elonmusk/status/1585341984679469056.
