How to use it on Mac
- Copy the post linkOn x.com, open the post, click the Share icon under it and choose “Copy link”, or simply copy the address from the browser bar.
- Open SaveXClips in SafariGo to savexclips.com in Safari on your Mac. Any modern browser works; Safari is just the default.
- Paste and press DownloadPaste the link into the box at the top of this page. SaveXClips finds the video and lists every available quality.
- Save the fileClick the quality you want. The file downloads immediately, and Safari shows it in the Downloads button of the toolbar.
How to download an X live stream
- Copy the stream linkOpen the broadcast on X and copy its link (x.com/i/broadcasts/…), or copy the link of the post that shared it.
- Paste it into SaveXClipsPaste the link into the box above and press Download. SaveXClips detects whether the stream is live or finished.
- Download or recordFinished streams: pick a quality from 480p to 4K, or MP3 / M4A for the sound. Live streams: press Record, then “Stop and save” when you’re done.
Replay or live recording?
- Replay: the whole broadcast as one file, from start to finish, in the quality you choose.
- Live: recording starts when you press Record and captures everything until you stop or the stream ends.
- Audio only: M4A keeps the original sound; MP3 is available for replays up to 30 minutes.
Good to know
Long streams are big: an hour at 1080p is about 2.5 GB. Choose 720p or 480p if you’re short on space, and keep the page open until the file is saved.
Some creators turn replays off. If a finished stream has no replay, there’s nothing left to download.
Where the files go on Mac
Files go to the Downloads folder (in the Dock or Finder sidebar). Press ⌥ ⌘ L in Safari to open the downloads list.
MP4 files open in QuickTime Player and import straight into iMovie, Final Cut Pro or Keynote.
