How to use it on iPad
- Copy the post linkIn the X app, open the post with the video, tap the Share icon under the post and choose “Copy link”.
- Open SaveXClips in SafariGo to savexclips.com in Safari on your iPad. Any modern browser works; Safari is just the default.
- Paste and press DownloadPaste the link into the box at the top of this page. SaveXClips finds the video and lists every available quality.
- Save the fileTap the quality you want and confirm “Download” in Safari. The downloads list opens from the arrow in the toolbar.
When is 1080p available?
X creates a 1080p version when the original upload was Full HD or higher. Many phone recordings qualify; clips reposted from elsewhere may top out at 720p.
If 1080p isn’t listed after you paste the link, X simply doesn’t have it. No tool can add detail that isn’t in the source.
How big are 1080p files?
- About 1–2.5 MB per 10 seconds, depending on motion
- A one-minute clip is typically 8–15 MB
- Choose 720p to roughly halve the size
Where the files go on iPad
Files end up in the Files app under iCloud Drive › Downloads by default. You can change this in Settings › Apps › Safari › Downloads.
Drag a downloaded video from Files straight into iMovie or another app when using Split View.

Why is there no 1080p button?
The uploader’s video wasn’t Full HD, so X didn’t create a 1080p version. We list everything X has.
Is 1080p worth it on a phone?
For keeping or editing, yes. For quick sharing, 720p looks almost the same on a small screen.
Can I download videos from private (protected) accounts?
No. Protected posts are only visible to approved followers, and SaveXClips doesn’t bypass that.
